As of July 2026, China grants unilateral visa-free entry to travelers from 50 countries holding ordinary passports for tourism, business, family visits, exchanges, and transit.

The unilateral visa-free policy generally allows stays of up to 30 days per trip, counted from 00:00 on the day after entry.
240-hour transit policy
Eligible travelers from 55 countries can use China's 240-hour transit visa-free policy through 65 designated ports when continuing to a third country or region.
